The top landing surface is 5mm thick rubber which is glued onto an 18mm solid timber platform. If this wasn't enough, we decided to step things up a notch and reinforce the top frame with 3mm thick steel plate with additional steel support through the middle. All screws are covered with strong adhesive to ensure that they do not loosen. Even the rubber feet are pop riveted into the frame unlike most that are just glued on.
